SELLER takes every precaution to breed and raise 100 % healthy Cats. All Kittens are vaccinated and de-wormed prior to leaving the Cattery. SFBC routinely tests for minor protozoan contaminants (giardia/trichomonas) and we are Negative to date. SFBC also tests for FeLV/FIV and has, again, tested 100% negative as of September 2008.
SELLER
provides a Health Guarantee for Genetic Internal Defects that could
affect the Kitten's life. In pet Kittens, it does not cover non-life
threatening physical anomalies, such as, but not limited to, tail
faults (small bump in tail - effects showing points, not Health), pelt coloration differences, etc. These do not effect the
Kitten from being a happy, healthy cat, but may reduce showing points,
if showing, in a pet class only, is permitted as part of this contract
as an addendum. To the best of our ability, SFBC maintains all Kittens and Cats free from protozoans/nemotodes, viral contaminants, etc. Common Cat internal contaminants (ie.: worms, etc.) are very easily treated and do not effect health, unless not treated and allowed to be long term afflictions. SFBC has never had "worms" in any Cat, but treats twice a year as a precaution and treats Kittens prior to leaving for their new homes. The health guarantee is Return-for-Replacement. Replacement is for a Kitten of similar quality as soon as such Kitten becomes available at our Cattery. There
are no cash refunds. The Seller is not responsible for any Veterinarian
fees or bills after the Kitten leaves the Seller's Residence/Cattery
(SFBC).
* To date, SFBC has never had tail faults and colorations and conformation are Breed Standard.
For the Health Guarantee to be valid the Buyer agrees to the following conditions: This guarantee lasts for three days after the Kitten leaves the Seller's Residence.
During that time period, the Buyer is urged to have the Kitten examined
thoroughly by a Veterinarian, at the Buyer's expense, for any genetic
life threatening defects. The Buyer may choose to have the Kitten blood
tested and x-rayed.
For this guarantee to be valid, the Buyer must also keep the Kitten in
quarantine, away from all other animals, until it is returned to SFBC,
if the Kitten is found to have any life threatening genetic defects.
The Buyer will not permit other people, children, or animals to come
into contact with the Kitten. If any person is handing the Kitten, they
must first wash their hands. Please ensure that the Veterinarian's
examination table is freshly disinfected and that the Veterinarian has
thoroughly washed their hands. The Buyer must transport the Kitten in a
Cat Carrier and will not allow the Kitten to walk on the Veterinarian
Office floor. These provisions will help to protect the health of
SFBC's other cats, in the event that the Kitten had to be returned for
exchange. Written proof of a genetic defect must be supplied immediately to SFBC from a licensed Veterinarian. If the Seller is not advised of a health problem within the guarantee period, the Kitten cannot be returned after the guarantee period has expired and/or if it has been exposed to another cat that does not have current negative test results from a licensed Veterinarian for FeLV, FIV, FIP. Seller may request written Veterinary proof of these negative results and will be supplied by the Buyer at their expense. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to provide immediate veterinary care to any Kitten showing signs of illness or distress and failure to do so will render any guarantee null and void. Under no circumstances is a Kitten to be destroyed prior to notification by the Buyer to the Seller. If a Kitten dies within the guarantee period, despite verifiable medical treatment, replacement compensation will be made ONLY if a licensed veterinarian certifies the cause of death. It is the Sellers right to ask for a deceased Kitten to be returned to the Seller, at the Buyers expense, for identification.
SELLER also gives Replacement Warranty for up to, but not more than,
one year of age of the Kitten for death due to congenital defects. The
Buyer must provide an autopsy report from a licensed Veterinary to SFBC
with specific details and test results that show conclusive evidence
that the death was caused by a congenital defect. It is the Sellers right to ask for a deceased Kitten to be returned to the Seller, at the Buyers expense, for identification. SFBC is not
responsible for any Veterinarian fees or bills after the Kitten has
left the SFBC residence, usually, but not always, the same date as this
signed contract. **
To date, SFBC has had no genetic/congenital defects
and has never needed to replace a Kitten.
